History

The S.H.L. Rural Pipeline Authority was established in 1997. The S.H.L. stands for the Rural Municipalities of St. Peter’s, Humboldt, and Lake Lenore. The S.H.L. has since expanded to also cover the Rural Municipalities of Three Lakes, Wolverine, and Leroy.  It is a low pressure water line that carries water from the Humboldt-Wakaw Sask-Water Treatment Plant located in Wakaw, to farms, acreages and developments located in the above 6 rural municipalities.

-The S.H.L.’s first project began in 1998 and had 34 subscribers, titled the Annaheim Project.

-By 2000 this project had 44 new subscribers and included people from Lake Lenore, Annaheim West, St. James, Verndale, and Marysburg.

-2001 St. Peter’s Abbey was added.

-2002, 31 people subscribed to the Marysburg Add-On as well as infill subscribers from previous projects.

-The Muenster Project took place from 2002 to 2003 as it was phased in over 2 years and had 72 subscribers.

-2008 had 40 subscribers from another project titled the Infill Project.                                                                                                                           -2011 saw 7 subscribers join.                                                                            -2012 infill project had 5 subscribers.
-2013 infill project had 9 subscribers and saw 18 hookups for the Country Living Developments, a 4 inch line added to the Humboldt Lake Resort, and 5 new hookups on Prairie View Properties.                  -2014 the infill project saw 4 new subscribers.                                        -2015 infill project saw 5 new subscribers, along with the Highway #20 North Project that added 18 subscribers.                                                -2017 had 7 new subscribers along with 7 connections at “The Haven” located at Lenore Lake.                                                                                -2018 had 6 new connections.

-2019 -2021 has had 22 more connections.

-To date there are a total of 350 subscribers to the S.H.L. Rural Pipeline Association.
